ESTORIL SUPERPOLE RACE: P 11 RACE 2: P 13
Il team Motocorsa Racing e Ryan Vickers concludono il round di Estoril con un bilancio positivo. Il weekend si è chiuso con risultati di rilievo: P11 nella Superpole Race e P13 in Gara 2. Il team ora guarda con determinazione all’ultimo appuntamento stagionale di Jerez, in programma dal 17 al 19 ottobre, con l’obiettivo di conquistare la posizione di miglior team indipendente.
Ryan Vickers:
“Il weekend a Estoril è terminato ed è stato un weekend fantastico. Arrivare su una pista nuova, che non conoscevo, e ottenere un P12, P11 e P13 è stato davvero entusiasmante. Abbiamo fatto un grande passo avanti nell’ultima gara, anche se purtroppo abbiamo mancato il miglior indipendente per una sola posizione. Abbiamo finito la gara dietro a Iannone, che mi ha superato negli ultimi tre giri. Peccato averlo mancato per così poco, sarebbe stato bello andare al parco chiuso, ma nel complesso sono davvero felice del weekend e non vedo l’ora di affrontare l’ultimo round.”
Lorenzo Mauri:
“Nella Superpole Race abbiamo chiuso in undicesima posizione, purtroppo soffriamo molto nella fase iniziale: con la gomma nuova non riusciamo a essere subito performanti e questo ci è costato cinque sorpassi nei primi giri. In Gara 2 abbiamo terminato tredicesimi. Peccato per le due posizioni perse nel finale: abbiamo avuto un calo importante nelle prestazioni sul giro e questo ci ha penalizzato. Ho sperato fino all’ultimo di poter entrare nel parco chiuso come miglior team indipendente, ma purtroppo la perdita di quelle due posizioni dopo tre quarti di gara non ce lo ha permesso. C’è però ancora un round da disputare, e a Jerez potremmo centrare questo obiettivo. Siamo comunque molto soddisfatti: nei duelli con le Honda e le Kawasaki ufficiali, così come con le altre Ducati, riusciamo a difenderci bene anche sul rettilineo, segno che stiamo facendo davvero un ottimo lavoro e che la nostra moto è performante.”

Motocorsa Racing team and Ryan Vickers conclude the Estoril round on a positive note.
The weekend ended with impressive results: P11 in the Superpole Race and P13 in Race 2.
The team is now looking ahead with determination to the final round of the season in Jerez, scheduled for 17–19 October, with the aim of securing the position of best independent team.
Ryan Vickers:
“The weekend at Estoril is over and it was a fantastic weekend. Coming to a new track that I didn’t know and getting P12, P11 and P13 was really exciting.
We took a big step forward in the last race, although unfortunately we missed out on the best independent by just one position. We finished the race behind Iannone, who overtook me in the last three laps. It’s a shame we missed it by so little, it would have been nice to go to the parc fermé, but overall I’m really happy with the weekend and I can’t wait for the final round.”
Lorenzo Mauri:
“We finished eleventh in the Superpole Race, but unfortunately we struggled a lot in the early stages: with new tyres, we weren’t able to perform well straight away, and this cost us five overtakes in the early laps.
In Race 2, we finished thirteenth. It’s a shame about the two positions we lost at the end: we had a significant drop in lap performance, and that penalised us. I hoped until the very end that we could enter the parc fermé as the best independent team, but unfortunately, losing those two positions after three-quarters of the race prevented us from doing so.
However, there is still one round to go, and we could achieve this goal at Jerez.
We are very satisfied anyway: in the battles with the factory Hondas and Kawasakis, as well as with the other Ducatis, we are able to defend ourselves well even on the straight, a sign that we are doing a really good job and that our bike is performing well.”
