DONINGTON FP1 P 8 – FP2 P 8
Prima giornata di prove libere, sul circuito inglese di Donington, conclusa in ottava posizione in 1’26.902 per il pilota Ryan Vickers nel suo round di casa e per il team Motocorsa Racing. Il tracciato è ben noto a Vickers per averci corso nel campionato britannico BSB, qui nel 2023 ha ottenuto la sua prima vittoria. Il team è ben fiducioso per la giornata di domani in cui si effettueranno Tissot Superpole e Gara 1.
Ryan Vickers:
“Giorno 1 terminato nel mio round di casa a Donington. Durante la stagione del mondiale Superbike ci sono tanti tracciati in cui non ho mai girato, ma questa pista la conosco molto bene. Durante le prime giornate fino ad ora siamo sempre stati attorno al sedicesimo posto, mentre qui abbiamo concluso entrambe le sessioni ottavi. E’ stata una giornata davvero molto positiva e non siamo molto lontani dalle prime posizioni, il distacco è molto ridotto. Il team ha lavorato benissimo oggi e pensiamo già a mantenere questo livello e se possibile migliorare per la giornata di domani. Sono molto felice di essere qui, ci sono tanti tifosi che mi supportano ed è molto bello, mi da molta carica per fare una bella performance.”
Lorenzo Mauri:
“Siamo arrivati a Donington Park e la prima giornata si è conclusa con un distacco di 0.5 ‘’ dal primo. Ryan qui si sente a casa e conosce bene il tracciato, per cui l’unica cosa su cui si è dovuto focalizzare al setting della moto. Questo è positivo, perché significa che quando si concentra solamente sul mezzo e non deve spendere energie anche sulla conoscenza di un nuovo tracciato e perfezionamento delle linee di guida, la performance è veramente buona e si possono ottenere risultati come quelli di oggi, se non migliori.”

First day of free practice at the British circuit of Donington ended in eighth position for rider Ryan Vickers at his home round and for the Motocorsa Racing team. The track is well known to Vickers for having raced there in the British BSB Championship, where he scored his first win in 2023. The team is well looking forward to tomorrow’s Tissot Superpole and Race 1.
Ryan Vickers:
“Day 1 is over at my home round at Donington. There are a lot of tracks during the World Superbike season where I have never ridden, but I know this track very well. During the first few days so far we have always been around sixteenth place, while here we finished both sessions eighth. It was a very positive day and we are not far from the top positions, the gap is very small. The team worked really well today and we are already thinking about maintaining this level and if possible improving for tomorrow. I am very happy to be here, there are so many fans supporting me and it is very nice, it gives me a lot of energy to do a good performance.”
Lorenzo Mauri:
“We arrived at Donington Park and the first day ended with a 0.5” gap from the first. Ryan feels at home here and knows the track well, so the only thing he had to focus on was setting the bike. This is good, because it means that when he only has to focus on the bike and doesn’t have to spend energy also on knowing a new track and perfecting his riding lines, the performance is really good and you can get results like today, if not better”
