MOTOCORSA RACING: YOU NEVER FORGET YOUR FIRST FRONT ROW. SURRA CLAIMS AN INCREDIBLE P3 IN SUPERPOLE AT ARAGÓN

A Saturday to remember at MotorLand Aragón for Team Motocorsa Racing and Alberto Surra in Round 6 of the 2026 WorldSBK Championship. After finishing FP3 in third position, the Italian rider secured an outstanding third place in Superpole, earning his first-ever front row start in WorldSBK and his first appearance in Parc Fermé.

A result of great value that confirms the growth shown by both the team and the rider over the past few weeks. On a circuit Surra already knew from his Moto2 days, the work carried out together with Team Motocorsa Racing allowed the Italian rookie to take another significant step forward, putting him among the front-runners of the category.

In Race 1, however, Surra had to serve the penalty received on Friday after improving a sector time under yellow flag conditions during FP1. Forced to start from the back of the grid, the Italian rider produced a strong recovery ride to finish 14th, collecting two important championship points.

ALBERTO SURRA – RIDER

“It was a fantastic Saturday, probably my best one so far. We have a bit of a bitter taste because of the Race 1 penalty, having to start from the back of the grid, but we still managed to bring home a P14. This morning we achieved third place in Superpole. Starting from the front row tomorrow, I hope we can do much better and we will work to have the best race pace possible. I want to thank the team for our work, which keeps improving all the time. Let’s do our very best in tomorrow’s two races!”

LORENZO MAURI – TEAM MANAGER

“After an outstanding qualifying session this morning in third position, we had to serve the penalty received during Friday’s FP1 under yellow flag conditions, which forced us to start from the back of the grid and inevitably compromised the race. Despite that, we still managed to score two points. It was a difficult race because the level of this Championship is extremely high and everyone is very competitive, with several factory bikes around the positions we are fighting for. We will keep working for tomorrow, when we will finally be able to take advantage of our front-row start.”
