MOTOCORSA RACING: SURRA RUNS WITH THE FRONT ON SATURDAY AT BALATON, P8 IN RACE 1

A standout day at the Balaton Park Circuit for Team Motocorsa Racing and Alberto Surra in Round 4 of the 2026 WorldSBK Championship. After finishing ninth in the combined free practice standings, the Italian rider confirmed his potential in Superpole, securing eighth place and lining up seventh on the grid.

In Race 1, Surra delivered an outstanding start and a very strong opening phase, climbing as high as second position and running with the leading group for several laps. He eventually crossed the line in eighth place, marking his best result so far in the WorldSBK, capping off an extremely positive day for the entire team.

ALBERTO SURRA – RIDER

“I’m really happy with this race, it was great. I had a very strong start and in the opening laps I managed to stay in second position. In the second half I still lack some confidence and struggled a bit, so that’s something we need to work on. The team is doing a great job, I’m improving and this is a track that suits me well. Being up there with the top riders was amazing. Now we focus on tomorrow.”

LORENZO MAURI – TEAM MANAGER

“It was exciting to see our bike back at the front, especially with a rookie. We are working very hard and race after race we are making steps forward thanks to the work of both the team and the rider. It was a positive Saturday, both in Superpole and in Race 1 here at Balaton Park Circuit. Over the course of the race, the experience of the other riders showed, particularly in race pace, but Surra proved to be very competitive right from the start, especially in overtaking. We are very pleased. There is still a lot of work to do, but we are motivated to keep pushing in this direction tomorrow.”
