The sixth round of the 2026 WorldSBK Championship came to a highly positive conclusion for Team Motocorsa Racing and Alberto Surra. At MotorLand Aragón, the Italian rider completed what has so far been the most competitive weekend of his young WorldSBK career, confirming the progress shown over the past few weeks.
After securing a historic front-row start on Saturday thanks to an outstanding third place in Superpole, Surra began Sunday with an excellent fourth-place finish in the Superpole Race, narrowly missing out on the podium and further establishing himself among the standout performers of the weekend. He then went on to finish Race 2 in eighth position, securing another top-10 result and adding valuable points to his championship tally.
On his birthday, Surra leaves Aragón with the strongest overall performance of his WorldSBK career to date, while Team Motocorsa Racing once again proved itself among the leading independent teams in the paddock. It was a weekend that marked another important step forward in the development of both rider and team, who continue to climb the World Championship standings.

ALBERTO SURRA – RIDER
“It was a super positive weekend for me and for the team, and I’m really happy for everyone because we truly deserved these results, both in qualifying and in the races. We still need to keep working to improve our performance over the longer race distance, but we collected a lot of important data and I can’t wait for the Misano round to keep improving and take another step forward together with the team.”
LORENZO MAURI – TEAM MANAGER
“It was a fantastic weekend, truly. I’m extremely happy with the work done by the entire team, the rider, everyone working back at the workshop and the trainers. The front-row start was spectacular and securing third place in Superpole yesterday was an incredible achievement. Today we completed the weekend with a magnificent fourth place in the Superpole Race and an eighth place in Race 2, finishing 18 seconds from the winner and 12 seconds from the podium. It is our best result so far in terms of gap to the front runners and it also placed us as the third-best independent team of the race. We still have a lot of work ahead of us and we will continue pushing to make further progress. However, these results clearly show the potential of both the bike and the rider. We now move into 11th place in the Championship standings and that gives us great motivation to keep improving.”
