After the positive signs shown on Friday, Team Motocorsa Racing and Alberto Surra returned to the track at TT Circuit Assen for the Superpole of Round 3 of the 2026 WorldSBK Championship, finishing in 15th position, 1.308 seconds off the fastest time. A result that does not fully reflect the expectations, but still confirms the progress made in terms of feeling and confidence with the bike.
Race 1 also ended with a 15th-place finish for the team, securing one point. This confirms the growth shown so far at Assen, with a Surra able to stay with the group and fight for the top 10 in the early stages. The team’s work remains focused on race distance management and maintaining performance even in the second half of the race, which will ne a key area to improve in order to reduce the gap and try to move closer to the top positions.

“I’m happy with this race: we brought home important data and a point. In the early laps I was able to stay with the group and fight for the top 10, around P10–P11. Then I started to struggle with the front. I still need to find the right feeling with the bike, which I’m continuing to learn, and adapt my riding style, also moving away from some habits from Moto2. This is the key area we need to work on to get closer and consistently fight inside the top 10. I’d like to thank the team for the great job — we’re motivated for tomorrow.”

“Fifteenth position and one point, 23.8 seconds from the leader. The gap is improving, but there is still a lot of work to do. The potential is there, and now we need to continue working on race management, especially over longer distances like today’s 21 laps. We all want to reach the top ten as soon as possible, both the rider and the team, but we are on the right path and by continuing to work this way we can get there soon.”
