Team Motocorsa Racing’s home Saturday at the Cremona Circuit comes to an end with mixed feelings. After showing great speed from the opening sessions of the day, Alberto Surra secured a front-row start with third position in Superpole, before a crash brought his Race 1 to an early end.
The day had started in the best possible way. Surra finished Free Practice with the fastest overall time of 1’27.666, further confirming the excellent feeling already shown on Friday and heading into Superpole with a strong reference.
In qualifying, Alberto continued to show a highly competitive pace, setting a 1’27.437 to secure P3. It was a particularly significant result during the team’s home weekend, earning him a front-row start for Race 1 in front of the Cremona Circuit crowd.
Starting from third on the grid, Surra remained among the frontrunners during the opening stages of the race. While running in third position, with 15 laps remaining, a crash at Turn 7 unfortunately forced the Team Motocorsa Racing rider to retire. Alberto was unharmed, and the team immediately began working on the Ducati Panigale V4 R ahead of the final day of the round.
The team can nevertheless take confidence from the strong speed shown throughout the weekend and the clear step forward made together. Sunday will immediately offer another opportunity, starting with Warm Up before the Superpole Race and Race 2, to turn the potential shown so far at the home round into a strong result.

ALBERTO SURRA – RIDER
“Today was a partly positive and partly negative day. We secured third place in qualifying, but in the race, while I was running in third position, I made a mistake and crashed. I want to thank the whole team because we did a great job. Unfortunately, these things are part of the journey and can happen. The important thing is that we have found the right speed and made a clear step forward, and I’m very happy about that.”
LORENZO MAURI – TEAM MANAGER
“A crash brought our Saturday race to an early end. Alberto is fine, and that is the most important thing. We will now work to repair the bike, and tomorrow morning during Warm Up we will carry out all the necessary checks. We have shown that the speed is there throughout the weekend: now we are focused on tomorrow, and we will try again.”
