MOTOCORSA RACING: FANTASTIC FRIDAY IN THE TOP 10 AT TT CIRCUIT ASSEN

First day of free practice at TT Circuit Assen for Team Motocorsa Racing and Alberto Surra in Round 3 of the 2026 WorldSBK Championship. After a difficult FP1, the Italian rider reacted in the afternoon by securing a top 10 finish in FP2 and ending the day in tenth place in the combined standings.

Beyond expectations, and after four years away from Assen — the track known as the Cathedral of Speed — Surra progressively regained his feeling throughout the day, supported by the team’s work on the changes made between FP1 and FP2. Tomorrow, the focus will be on consolidating today’s progress in Superpole.

ALBERTO SURRA – RIDER

“First day in Assen was very positive. I hadn’t been on this track for four years, so I’m happy because we were struggling a bit this morning, while in the afternoon I managed to set the tenth fastest time. We made a significant step forward with the changes and with the team I feel we are moving in the right direction. Now we’ll see what we can do tomorrow, continuing to build mileage and experience with this bike.”

LORENZO MAURI – TEAM MANAGER

“Very good FP2, finishing in tenth position with a strong race pace. I’m happy with the work done by both the team and the rider. Tomorrow the goal is to try to stay inside the top ten in Superpole. It won’t be easy given the very high level of competition among every team and riders, but we will give it our all.”
