The second round of the 2026 WorldSBK Championship continues in Portimão for Team Motocorsa Racing and Alberto Surra. After securing 16th position in Superpole, the Italian rider finished Race 1 in 15th place, bringing home his first point of the weekend.
For a rookie making his debut in the category, scoring points already in the opening races is an important sign and confirms the growth path undertaken by both the team and the rider. Today’s performance will allow the team to continue working on race pace and distance management, while gathering useful data ahead of tomorrow’s two races.

ALBERTO SURRA – RIDER
“It was a race where we learned a lot. It’s a shame about some issues with the front, but we still made another step forward. Now we will work to understand how to improve the front feeling ahead of tomorrow. I want to thank the team: we were battling from the start and, even if we were missing something at the end, we still managed to finish in the points. Tomorrow we can do even better.”
LORENZO MAURI – TEAM MANAGER
“Fifteenth position and one point scored. We need to work a lot on riding style and electronics to improve performance in the second part of the race, where we are struggling with tyre wear, both front and rear. We will analyse the data to take a step forward. Alberto is young and still has limited experience in this championship and with these bikes, but the feeling is positive and there is potential to improve already tomorrow, starting from the Superpole Race.”
