MOTOCORSA RACING: P6 IN RACE 2 AND P10 IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR SURRA. THANK YOU MISANO

A highly positive weekend comes to an end at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for Team Motocorsa Racing and Alberto Surra. On home soil, the Italian rider confirmed the strong form shown over the past few weeks, delivering solid results and consistently running at the front throughout the entire weekend.

After finishing sixth in Race 1, Sunday began with a hard-fought Superpole Race that went down to the final lap. Surra initially crossed the line in fifth position before being classified seventh following a three-second penalty. In Race 2, the Italian rider was once again fighting near the front of the field, taking the chequered flag in sixth place and once again confirming the competitiveness shown throughout the weekend.

With three top-10 finishes across the races and a steadily decreasing gap to the category’s leading riders, Misano marks another important step forward in the development of both rider and team. A weekend that sees Surra climb to tenth place in the WorldSBK Championship standings with 95 points.

ALBERTO SURRA – RIDER

“I’m really happy. I held my own in all three races despite the extremely hot conditions. Being my home race made it even more challenging, but my friends and the support of the Italian fans gave me a huge boost. I was disappointed about the penalty in the Superpole Race, but overall it was an absolutely positive weekend. I’d like to thank my team so much because we’re doing a really great job together. See you at Donington!”

LORENZO MAURI – TEAM MANAGER

“This Misano round is now complete and we are extremely happy. We worked very well throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Alberto was outstanding and behaved like a true professional, despite still being a rookie at the beginning of his WorldSBK journey. With today’s sixth-place finish, we reduced the gap to the race winner to around twenty seconds for the first time and finished only a few seconds away from the podium. Above all, reaching tenth place in the Championship standings makes us proud of the work we have been doing. Before the race, we had to replace the engine due to a mechanical issue. I would like to thank all the team members who managed to complete the job in less than an hour, allowing us to start the race as planned. The bike worked perfectly. I’d like to thank the team, the rider, our sponsors, our friends and everyone who came to Misano to experience these emotions together with Team Motocorsa Racing. See you at Donington!”
