MOTOCORSA RACING: P6 IN RACE 1 FOR SURRA IN FRONT OF HIS HOME CROWD

The positive momentum continues for Team Motocorsa Racing and Alberto Surra in Round 7 of the 2026 WorldSBK Championship at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. After securing sixth place in Superpole with a lap time of 1’32.305, the Italian rider confirmed his competitiveness once again in Race 1, finishing sixth in front of his home crowd.

A result that carries even greater value considering the extremely high level of competition in the championship and allows Team Motocorsa Racing to end the day as the second-best independent team. Following the progress shown over the past few weeks, the Misano weekend is further confirming the growth of the project and Surra’s ability to consistently fight for top-10 positions.

ALBERTO SURRA – RIDER

“It was a really great Saturday. I’m very happy with the whole day, both qualifying and the race. It was a difficult day because of the heat and the lack of grip on the track, but the team and I worked really well together and the result shows it. I would like to thank all the sponsors and fans who came to support us here at Misano. We also had Leonardo Bonucci with us in the garage. He is a friend and it was great to have him here; he gave me an extra boost. Now we focus on tomorrow. I can’t wait to get back on track and try to match, or even improve on, this result.”

LORENZO MAURI – TEAM MANAGER

“The first race of our home weekend at Misano is done and I’m genuinely thrilled with this sixth-place finish and with being the second-best independent team. The gap to the front is getting smaller, which means we are continuing to improve. We still need to work on Sector 3 and we have been focusing on it for some time, both during the tests and together with the team over the last few days. The crew chief, the engineer and the rider are all working extremely hard to find something that will allow us to improve further in that sector. It is still a huge satisfaction, both for the sixth place achieved in qualifying and for the sixth place in the race. Tomorrow will be a demanding day, with a short race and a long race requiring two completely different strategies. See you tomorrow!”
