MOTOCORSA RACING: A POSITIVE START AT MISANO, SURRA FINISHES FRIDAY IN P6

The home weekend for Team Motocorsa Racing and Alberto Surra got off to an encouraging start at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, host of Round 7 of the 2026 WorldSBK Championship. At the end of Friday’s free practice sessions, the Italian rider finished sixth in the combined standings, confirming the strong form shown over the past few weeks.

On a circuit that holds special significance for both the team and the rider, the work completed across FP1 and FP2 provided positive indications in terms of race pace and the behaviour of the Ducati Panigale V4 RS. For Surra, Misano is also one of the few circuits he has already ridden this season aboard a WorldSBK machine, thanks to the test held at the end of May on the same track. That test produced particularly encouraging results, including fifth place overall in the combined standings, providing a solid foundation heading into this home race weekend.

ALBERTO SURRA – RIDER

“It was a positive Friday. We finished in P6, which I’m happy about, and we’re close to the top three. We still need to make one more small step, but I’m confident we’ll be able to do it tomorrow. I really can’t wait to properly get this first home weekend underway and make the most of it together with my team.”

LORENZO MAURI – TEAM MANAGER

“The Misano weekend has begun. We finished Friday in sixth position, seven tenths behind Bulega. We showed a good pace and we’re already analysing the data. Obviously, it will be difficult to improve significantly on today’s performance, but tomorrow we’ll continue working on setup and electronics ahead of the first long race. I’d like to thank all our sponsors, supporters and everyone in Team Motocorsa Racing.”
