The second round of the 2026 WorldSBK Championship gets underway in Portimão for Team Motocorsa Racing and Alberto Surra. After a challenging FP1, the team finished the second free practice session in sixteenth position, continuing the adaptation work on one of the most technical circuits on the calendar.
A useful day to gather data and continue the development of the setup ahead of qualifying and the races over the weekend.

ALBERTO SURRA – RIDER
“First day in Portimão felt a bit particular, as I hadn’t ridden this bike for a month. We improved progressively throughout the sessions and now we need to find the right feeling. We tried several solutions today, some worked better than others. I need to get used again to riding the bike, but the team, as always, is doing its maximum to help me. I believe there is still a lot of room for improvement. I would like to thank the whole team.”
LORENZO MAURI – TEAM MANAGER
“Sixteenth position here in Portimão after the second free practice session, at +1.6 seconds from the fastest time. This is obviously a very selective track and to reduce the gap we will need to work a lot on all areas of the bike, from electronics to setup. We will also work a lot on the rider’s riding. Tomorrow there will be a lot to do to recover as many positions as possible.”
